Merry Christmas from everyone associated with All Things FPL. We hope you all have a brilliant festive break with your love ones, Santa brings what you’ve been craving and the food leaves you fighting to stave off a self inflicted comma.
Now onto more important matters 😉 , The Pro League and Cup situations with the Cup entering it’s final gameweek of the group stages. Read on to find out who has been our Santa’s allstars and who is still in the frame to progress to the knockout stages.
Ok, we’ve got some catching up to do so without further delay the winners from the previous three gameweeks;
Gameweek 15 most points – Tim Keene otherwise known as site regular DavidLuizIsAHero
Gameweek 16 most points – Hamazasp Vardanyan
Gameweek 17 most points – Amrit Lakhiani
It’s Christmas which for the Pro League means only one thing; Santa’s Allstars. Yep, the top three have all won £40 for their season efforts so far. These are site regulars Andy31293, Billy Ketsu and in third, Juan Caicedo.

One game to go. 14 managers securely through to the knockout stages with a massive 18 spots still up for grabs as we go into the Boxing Day weekend of fixtures. Yep, 18 spots with 33 managers vying for passage into the next round. Who’d have thought back in gameweek one we would have so much uncertainly going into the last gameweek which just go to show the calibre and level of competition you Pro’s have managed to create.
In group A Upthemiddle is the only manager who knows the competition will continue with no fewer than five managers battling for the remaining two spots. Four of those meet as Kaner123 hosts DokDok666 while Iceman72 welcomes DavidLuizIsAHero with the latter having a little buffer due to goal difference over the other four.
Moving onto group B and every is settled. Andy31293, Kapilpatwardhan and Bitterandstout have all booked their place in the next round while in group C three managers are vying for the final spot. Jstippins host table topper Danmajestic with Murrinho waiting in the wings if Jstippins slips up travelling to bottom placed NDavis95. Don’t rule out King Nil Miss to make a final flurry from the outside though. A Win over contributor Stoosher and with his goal difference advantage could see the team news expert sneak in.
Group D and nothing is clear with five managers looking to secure the three spots. Offshore Deserter, Double Blue and Cardio who currently sit as the top three must go into the finale favourites due to far superior goal differences but with Old School facing Cardio, everything is still to play for. Into group E and it’s a similar story with the same number of managers looking to book a slot from just two places available with Steviesunshine basking in the sun, clear of the five who are separated by just a single point. Four meet this gameweek as Andreodde hosts Tamhearts86 while second placed Salvo-PtS travels to Moiketsi.
Group F is more defined with Vepn and Ginmorph safely through while the remaining spot can only be grabbed by two managers. Pkilu, currently in third with a vastly superior goal difference and a three points buffer must surely think he’s all but there but does have to face former champion CaesarCaesar while Bozio who is clinging on by his teeth travels to bottom placed Pepin. It’s a similar story in group G where Darsh and Emaole are through with just two managers vying for the last remaining position. The difference though is that these two matches face off in a winner takes all encounter as RealDL travels to Mithrophon.
Now if there was an award for the tightest group, group H would take the crown. No one is safely through to the next round with no fewer than six managers all with aspirations of those elusive top three positions. Four meet in games that are likely to be two more winner takes all scenarios as Karl Hans travels to Dougo while contributor IAP hosts Rohit Ladda. Group I is a battle between Pro writer Oberetta and Marvman06. Oberetta has a two points cushion going into the encounters but has to face top of the table Mujafaa while Marvman06 travels to Chrisg9992. However it must be noted that if both win, both qualify with Marvman06’s 31 points currently in possession of one of the two best runners up spots.
Finally group J where we suddenly find ourselves outside the top three for the first time in the competition. Billy Ketsu has qualified and with his goal difference dwarfing everyone else, more than likely in top spot but then it’s a three way battle between ourselves, Nataf and Vermonter for the remaining two positions. Nataf is certainly favourite to progress with a three point cushion to us in fourth and is travelling to bottom placed Mawifo but with Vermonter playing Billy Ketsu, there’s hope for us if we can address the slide against DiscoBar. Again like group I it must be noted that if all three managers win this weekend, all three qualify with ourselves currently in the other best runners up position.
Best of luck to everyone still in with a chance of progression and thank you for everyone who has taken part. I can only speak for myself but the group stages has added another layer of FPL enjoyment to what otherwise has been a pretty bleak affair. All the best and enjoy the Turkey ladies and gents.
