Ihattaren made a name for himself at the turn of this decade when he became a key player for Eredivisie side, PSV, at the age of just 17, earning a move to European powerhouse, Juventus, in the summer of 2021.
He began his youth career with SV Houten in 2009 and joined PSV a year later before coming through Jong PSV in the Dutch second-tier and then making his first-team debut in the 2019/20 Eredivisie campaign.
Whilst with ‘Boeren’, he scored ten goals and made 74 appearances before his aforementioned move to Turin with Juventus in Serie A.
However, he was immediately loaned out to Sampdoria for the first-half of the season but made no Serie A appearances before then going on to Ajax in the second-half of the campaign, again making no league appearances – only featuring for Jong Ajax in the second division.
He became a free agent this summer but the attacker, who represented the Netherlands at U15, U16, U17 and U19 level, helping the Dutch win the UEFA European Under-17 Championships in 2018, has struggled to find a club.
He has joined a Slavia Prague side that are currently five points behind their arch-rivals, Sparta, at the top-of-the-table but sit above Roma in Group G of the UEFA Europa League.
Speculation as to why Ihattaren’s career has stalled so significantly is rife and varied with suggestions he has ties and connections to the Mocro Maffia group. He was also arrested and charged for domestic abuse earlier this year with that case remaining under investigation.
