Harry Kane has called on Bayern Munich to fight for Thomas Tuchel during the coach’s final few months at the helm, having kept their slim title hopes alive with his brace against RB Leipzig.
Bayern entered Saturday’s game 11 points behind unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen at the Bundesliga summit, and it looked like they would end the matchday with a double-digit deficit when Benjamin Sesko cancelled out Kane’s opener.
However, Kane struck again one minute into stoppage time, finding the bottom corner with a well-taken volley after being teed up by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Bayern’s win came at the end of a week in which they confirmed Tuchel will leave the club at the end of the season, with Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso their top target to replace him.
In the short term, however, Kane says Bayern must do everything they can to give Tuchel a triumphant send-off, saying: “The club made a decision.
“We players have to show our responsibility to the manager, our responsibility to the club, to give everything we have for the season.

“We know as players we haven’t been performing as well as we can. You can’t just sit there and talk about it. You have to fight and work hard at every moment and that’s what we did today.”
Bayern go to Freiburg for their next Bundesliga fixture on Friday, before hosting Lazio in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie the following Tuesday, looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
