Manuel Neuer has withdrawn from the Germany squad after tearing a muscle in his left adductor in training, Bayern Munich have confirmed.
Neuer missed almost a year of action after breaking his leg in a skiing accident shortly after the 2022 World Cup, playing his first game of the 2023-24 season for Bayern on October 28.
He has since gone on to make 24 appearances for the Bavarian giants across all competitions this term, though he was not named in Julian Nagelsmann’s first Germany squad in November.

However, on Wednesday Neuer’s club confirmed he had returned from international duty after suffering the adductor injury.

The German Football Association (DFB) said Neuer sustained the injury in training on Wednesday morning, with no replacement shot-stopper being called up.
Ter Stegen, Bernd Leno and Oliver Baumann are the three goalkeepers remaining in the Germany squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Lyon to face France.
Germany will begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Scotland in Berlin on June 14, with Hungary and Switzerland their other opponents in Group A.
