Paris Saint-Germain remains the ideal place for Kylian Mbappe to fulfil his ambitions despite renewed transfer interest from Real Madrid, believes the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Mbappe’s future with the Ligue 1 champions is again uncertain after he entered the final six months of the bumper contract he signed in 2022 when rejecting interest from Madrid.
Despite that snub, senior figures at the Santiago Bernabeu reportedly remain on good terms with Mbappe, who is now free to negotiate with other clubs ahead of his deal expiring in June.
Madrid are the frontrunners for his signature once again, with reports suggesting Los Blancos have set the forward a mid-January deadline to decide whether he wishes to join them at the end of the season.

Mbappe has yet to win the UEFA Champions League with PSG and has reportedly grown disillusioned with their approach on several occasions, but Al-Khelaifi does not believe he needs to move.
During an appearance on RMC’s Rothen s’enflamme podcast, Al-Khelaifi said: “I’m not going to hide that I want Kylian to stay.
“The best player in the world is Kylian and the best club for him is Paris. He is central to our project. He has the best training centre in the world, the best coach in the world [Luis Enrique].

“Every year he’s sure of playing in the Champions League, we’re in the last 16 at least, quarter-finals, even semi-finals or final, we’re there with the big clubs.”
Madrid are keen to bring Mbappe to the Bernabeu at the end of the season after failing to sign a like-for-like replacement for Karim Benzema following his move to Al-Ittihad last year, though the finances on offer from the Spanish giants are reportedly lower than those Mbappe turned down in 2022.
