Al-Hilal’s New Power Player

-

A record of £47m has been offered to Rúben Neves, the captain of Wolves. The offer is made by none other than Al-Hilal, a Saudi Arabian club that is continuously taking top football players of the world under its wings. It is expected that Neves will finalize the move to Al-Hilal by the end of this week after he is done with his international duty.

The Portugal player, Neves, joined Wolves in 2017 from Porto and will be at the end of his contract at the end of next season. It is also heard that Barcelona is also interested in this player but has not come to terms with him. And this window has given Al-Hilal the opportunity to come forward with a lucrative deal. Things are currently being discussed with Jorge Mendes, his agent, and Al-Hilal.

Neves has been very prominent in taking the Wolves to the top like the Championship league which was played under Nuno Espirito Santo. From there Wolves gained promotion to play in the Premier League.

And thus after this Neves has become an essential player of the team. Bruno Laga gave him the armband and then he led the team to a 13th and also became the top scorer in the Premier League.

He also helped the Wolves in winning the Championship a year after he joined them. Not only this but Wolves had also secured two consecutive seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League.

In 2020, Wolves also competed in the Europa League quarter-finals but unfortunately, they lost to Lopetegui’s Seville.

Neves has scored a total of 30 goals in 253 appearances. But now, he is uncertain about his future and has told one of the News channels that he wanted to compete in the Champions League football.

But contrary to his wish to play in the Champions League football, if he joins Al-Hilal then it would just be for the sake of a bigger opportunity and stage.

If the move is completed by Neves then he would be playing along with none other than Christiano Ronaldo, Matheus Pereira, Andre Carrillo, and Karim Benzema.

He said: “Let’s see. Let’s see what happens. Of course, I always say the same thing, I truly love to be here but I never hide that I want to play Champions League football. That is a hard decision to make because I feel at home here.”

“In football, you need to hurry, you need to go for your main goals and I think that would be a massive decision for me and my family. Nothing has happened yet. It was my last game here, I really enjoyed it and I’m thankful for every single person who has worked with me for six seasons.”

Other than Neves, Bayern Munich is also moving from Napoli and is going to sign a 5-year deal with Min-Jae.

Barcelona on the other hand is going to sign a deal with Atletico Paranaense for Vitor Roque. The deal is expected to be around €35m plus €10m add-ons. Whereas the 18-year-old player has agreed to a contract until 2028
