Jarrod Bowen believes he is playing the best football of his career after a whirlwind week for club and country.
The West Ham winger has been in sparkling form this season with five goals and two assists in nine appearances across all competitions.
That led to his inclusion in the England squad named last week with further good news coming on Sunday with the Hammers announcing Bowen had signed a new seven-year contract at the London Stadium.
The 26-year-old said: “It has been a really special week. I got the [England] call before our European game [at Freiburg], we won that which was nice, then the new deal was sorted over the weekend. A special four days.
“The way I’ve started the season, I’m playing the best football of my career, I think. I’m a dad now, I’m in a different place, I feel more mature.”

Bowen has four caps for England but has yet to play for the national team at Wembley. He has two opportunities to break his duck over the next week with Gareth Southgate’s men due to face Australia in a friendly on Friday before taking on Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifier next Tuesday.
He added: “I’ve not had the opportunity to play at Wembley yet. I’m really looking forward to two good games.
“It’s the ultimate [to play at Wembley]. I have four caps and I am massively grateful for them but to play at Wembley…as a little boy you dream of it. Hopefully I’ll get the opportunity.”
