It was back to normality in Gameweek 12 as the points were flowing for many FPL managers, but who were the most explosive assets of all?
Mo Salah (£13.0m) – 16 Points
After a rare blank against Luton, it was business as usual for Salah in Gameweek 12, with the Liverpool star scoring a brace in the Reds’ 3-0 victory over Brentford. The Egyptian – heavily captained by FPL managers – came away with 16 points, which amounted to his fifth double-figure haul of the season, and he is the only player who has surpassed 100 FPL points at this stage of the campaign.
Erling Haaland (£14.0m) – 16 Points
From one highly-owned premium asset to another, Haaland responded to Salah’s haul by posting the exact same score in Man City’s entertaining 4-4 draw with Chelsea on Sunday. After he disappointed his owners with a one-point return in the previous weekend’s clash with Bournemouth, the Norwegian’s contribution against Chelsea was more of what FPL managers have come to expect from him. It is now 13 goals and three assists in the Premier League this season for Pep Guardiola’s chief marksman.
Kostas Tsimikas (£4.6m) – 15 Points
Tsimikas became a popular budget option when fellow-left-back Andy Robertson suffered an injury, but his owners were disappointed in Gameweek 11 when he was benched for Joe Gomez. That all changed this past weekend though, with the Greek international not only starting but keeping a clean sheet and recording two assists in Liverpool’s victory. With Robertson not expected back anytime soon, Tsimikas remains an excellent budget-friendly option.
Victor Lindelof (£4.5m) – 15 Points
Another cheap defender, and certainly not a name you would expect to see feature in this article very often, Lindelof came away with Man Utd’s slender 1-0 victory over Luton with 15 points thanks to the fact he scored the only goal of the game. Given the fact it was the Swede’s first Premier League goal for almost three years, his points return was an exception to the rule, rather than the norm.
