As we look beyond the current international break and towards the next round of Premier League fixtures, it’s time to focus on those stand-out FPL-listed midfield players who catch the eye going into Gameweek 13.
West Ham being away from home to a Burnley side at the bottom of the table should see Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) catapulted into the spotlight in Gameweek 13. Not only is the attacking winger coming off the back of goals in consecutive gameweeks, he has also found the net in all six of West Ham’s away league fixtures so far this season. Only two players boast more FPL points to their name in 2023-24 than Bowen, so expect him to attract plenty of attention with form and a plumb fixture in his favour. Teammate James Ward-Prowse (£6.1m) also appeals on the back of his two assists and 11 FPL points vs Nottingham Forest last time out.
However, Bowen still has a long way to go to crack the 100-point mark this campaign, which was surpassed by Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) in Gameweek 12. The Egyptian netted twice and accumulated another 16 fantasy points against Brentford, taking his overall tally to 101 which is more than any other player, let alone midfielder. Away at Man City in Gameweek 13, Salah will more than likely be afforded chances on the counter-attack against Pep Guardiola’s side, so the difficulty of the fixture is unlikely to put FPL managers off.
A Gameweek 13 fixture against an Aston Villa side without a clean sheet in their last six league matches enhances the potential fantasy prospects of Heung-Min Son (£9.7m), although on the opposite side, Moussa Diaby (£6.8m) boasts a goal, two assists and 21 FPL points across his last three league fixtures, so he can’t be written off ahead of Gameweek 13. Meanwhile, two more heavy Fantasy Premier League hitters face off in West London as Bryan Mbeumo (£6.8m) and Brentford host Bukayo Saka (£8.6m) and Arsenal.
