Three Things We Learned In Gameweek 16

Robert Sanchez (£4.7m) – Chelsea
The Chelsea goalkeeper was withdrawn late on against Everton with a recurrence of a knee problem, and we’re still waiting on results of an assessment which should reveal how serious the injury is.

Status: 50/50

Sam Johnstone (£4.6m) – Crystal Palace
Like Sanchez, Johnstone came off late in Gameweek 16 with what was revealed to be a calf injury. Roy Hodgson will provide an update on his number one goalkeeper before the weekend.

Status: 50/50

Alphonse Areola (£4.3m) – West Ham
Areola missed a second successive Premier League game over the weekend with a wrist injury that is proving more troublesome than first thought. It remains to be seen whether he’s fit for the weekend.

Status: 50/50

Martin Dubravka (£4.1m) – Newcastle
Amid reports that Dubravka is suffering from a ‘hidden’ shoulder injury, the Newcastle man is now dealing with a stomach bug and could miss the midweek Champions League fixture with AC Milan. He is likely to be available for the weekend, though.

Status: LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE

Harry Maguire (£4.3m) – Man Utd
After forcing his way back into the Man Utd team, Maguire suffered a setback on Tuesday when he was forced off against Bayern Munich with an apparent groin injury. The Gameweek 17 clash with Liverpool now looks unlikely for the centre-back.

Status: PROBABLY OUT

Willian (£5.3m) – Fulham
With four attacking returns in his last four games, the veteran has been in fine form, but a hamstring injury cut his Gameweek 16 participation short. It would be a surprise if we see him this weekend.

Status: PROBABLY OUT

Gabriel Martinelli (£7.8m) – Arsenal
The Brazilian was not involved in the midweek Champions League tie with PSV due to illness, but it is unlikely to keep him out of Premier League action this weekend.

Status: LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE

Erling Haaland (£14.0m) – Man City
A surprise omission from Man City’s Gameweek 16 squad, Pep Guardiola has revealed a foot injury was the reason. The Norwegian will miss Wednesday’s Champions League game and his availability for the weekend is currently unknown. We should find out more details on Friday.

Status: 50/50
