FPL 2023-24 – Gameweek 3 Bandwagons

-

We’re two weeks into the new Fantasy Premier League season and already a number of bandwagons are starting to emerge. We run the rule over some of the most notable bandwagons and weigh up their FPL prospects ahead of the Gameweek 3 deadline.

Following his brace at the weekend, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo (£6.7m) has established himself as the most transferred in player leading up to Gameweek 3. Listed as a midfielder on FPL, Mbeumo is playing as part of a front two or front three for the Bees and is also their primary penalty taker. He boasts three goals so far this season, two from the spot and 23 fantasy points, the second-most within the entire player-base. The over 800,000 FPL managers who have transferred in Mbeumo will be hoping he maintains his form in front of goal in Gameweek 3, as Brentford host Crystal Palace.

Another bandwagon to consider jumping on is that of Mbeumo’s teammate Yoane Wissa (£6.1m). The 26-year-old forward is one of three players to have gained over half-a-million new owners this past week. Like Mbeumo, Wissa has also netted in consecutive gameweeks, scoring against Spurs and most recently recording a goal, an assist and 11 FPL points vs Fulham in Gameweek 2.

Third on the list when it comes to most transferred in players since the conclusion of Gameweek 2 is Pervis Estupinan (£5.2m), who cannot stop racking up attacking returns for Brighton from left-back. The defender backed up his late assist in Gameweek 1 against Luton with another assist and a goal in Gameweek 2. His haul of 11 points takes his overall FPL score to 18 points heading into Gameweek 3, which sees the Seagulls defender come up against West Ham. Currently, over 600,000 fantasy bosses have moved him into their respective squads, boosting his ownership percentage to more than 62% as the bandwagon continues to roll.

The likes of Ben Chilwell (£5.7m), Kaoru Mitoma (£6.6m) and Solly March (£6.6m) could all also pass half a million new buyers before the Gameweek 3 deadline is up. March is the highest scoring FPL asset of the season so far, having accumulated 24 points over the past two gameweeks following his two goals last weekend.
