FPL 2023-24 – Double Gameweek 7 Injury Update

-

Some injury flags are starting to appear in FPL teams, so it’s time to take a look at the current status of key assets.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.9m) – Liverpool
The prognosis is looking positive for the Liverpool full-back, who has made a partial return to training ahead of the Reds’ Carabao Cup clash with Leicester on Wednesday. While it would be a surprise if he started that match, this news obviously increases his chances of featuring in Liverpool’s Gameweek 7 fixture with Tottenham.

Status: LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE

Bukayo Saka (£8.7m) – Arsenal
Although Saka was limping towards the end of Sunday’s North London Derby, it wasn’t initially thought to be a serious injury. However, Mikel Arteta has since come out and said that he hasn’t trained since that match, and he is a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Bournemouth in Gameweek 7.

Status: 50/50

James Maddison (£7.9m) – Tottenham
Another player who starred in the North London Derby yet came out of it with an injury, Maddison jolted his knee in a collision with Jorginho and was forced off the pitch with a little over ten minutes of normal time remaining. However, pending results of a scan earlier in the week, the summer signing is likely to shake off the knock in time for the meeting with Liverpool on Saturday.

Status: LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE

Harvey Barnes (£6.4m) – Newcastle
The Newcastle winger lasted just 11 minutes of his side’s win over Sheffield Utd on Sunday, before a foot injury cut short his participation. Eddie Howe has stated that scans reveal a potentially serious injury which could keep Barnes out of action for “months rather than weeks”, so Gameweek 7 is obviously out of the question.

Status: OUT

Odsonne Edouard (£5.6m) – Crystal Palace
Edouard has been one of the standout budgets strikers so far this season, scoring four Premier League goals, but he could potentially be set for a spell on the sidelines after feeling something in his hamstring against Fulham in Gameweek 6. There is nothing conclusive yet, but Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson fears it could sideline his striker for up to a month.

Status: HIGHLY DOUBTFUL
