We take a look at which players score the most FPL points in Gameweek 8.
Raheem Sterling (£7.0m) – 16 Points
Not for the first time this season, Sterling was the highest point-scorer in a single gameweek with his 16-point return against Burnley more than any other player managed in Gameweek 8. The Chelsea man’s points came courtesy of a goal and two assists in the 1-4 victory, much to the dismay of the 250k+ managers who had sold him in the week leading up to the fixture.
Mo Salah (£12.6m) – 15 Points
It was a third double-figure haul in the last four gameweeks for Salah, who is now the joint-highest point-scorer across all positions. The Egyptian scored both of Liverpool’s goals in the 2-2 draw with Brighton to make it nine attacking returns in the Premier League this season. With just one blank to his name so far, FPL managers are finding it difficult to ignore the Liverpool star.
Micky van de Ven (£4.5m) – 15 Points
It was Joachim Andersen in Double Gameweek 7, and this time it’s Van de Ven who is flying the flag for FPL centre-backs. The Tottenham defender found the net for the first time for the club by grabbing the only goal of the game in the win at Luton. Maximum bonus points naturally followed, and at £4.5m, the Dutchman looks like an excellent value in a high-performing Spurs team.
Jack Harrison (£5.5m) – 14 Points
Another budget player who brought in the points in Gameweek 8 was Everton’s loan signing Harrison, who made his first Toffee contributions with a goal and assist in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth. The 26-year-old, who has now built up his fitness and is likely to see plenty more pitch-time, has a history of strong FPL performances with parent club Leeds, and is worth considering going forward.
