Ralf Rangnick has confirmed he has spoken to Bayern Munich about the impending vacancy at the Allianz Arena but insists his current focus remains on the Austria national side.
Rangnick is reportedly Bayern’s number one target to succeed Thomas Tuchel, particularly with other contenders Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso and Unai Emery all committing to their current jobs.

The 65-year-old admitted he had held talks with the deposed Bundesliga champions.
He told 90min: “There was contact from Bayern Munich and I informed the OFB (Austrian Football Association) about this. We have a very trusting relationship.”
Rangnick will take charge of Austria at this summer’s European Championship and suggested he was happy to leave matters relating to his future until after the tournament in Germany.
“My focus is on the Austrian national team,” he added. “We are completely focused on Euro 2024. At the moment there is no reason to deal with it [Bayern].”
Rangnick also cast doubt on whether he’d want the job at all.
“I’d have to ask myself, would I even want that,” he said, adding that the possibility of a lucrative deal at Bayern would’t play into his thinking.
“For me, it’s about other things. Can I make a difference? Is there a chance to develop a team and be successful? That drives me. If that no longer drives me, it’s time to retire.”
