The Premier League have announced that Ange Postecoglu has been nominated as the Manager of the Month for the Premier League for October.
The Tottenham Hotspur boss has won the award for the third consecutive month at the start of a new season, which is the first time that has ever happened in Premier League history.
Spurs picked up all nine points from three Premier League matches in the month of October with victories against Luton Town, Crystal Palace and Fulham.
That run of form left Spurs sitting at the top-of-the-table ahead of the previous weekend but they ended up being hammered by London rivals Chelsea in an unusual game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where they took the lead, went down to nine men, conceded two second-half stoppage-time goals and were eventually beaten by four goals to one.
They had been unbeaten up until that point with Postecoglu winning both Manager of the Month awards in August and September. That means they have been shifted to second place in the table, a point behind defending champions Manchester City at the top.
Postecoglu took charge of the north London club during the summer after winning back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles with Celtic. The 58-year-old Greece-born Australian had only ever managed Panachaiki for a short stint in 2008 in European football before being appointed at Celtic.
There are two games remaining in November for Spurs as they go to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the lunchtime kick-off in the Premier League on Saturday before facing Aston Villa after the November international break.
Postecoglu will have to immediately contend with suspensions to both Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie, as well as injuries to James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, which are expected to keep both players sidelined until the New Year, according to Postecoglu in his pre-match press conference ahead of their trip to Molineux this weekend.
