Bournemouth make Sinisterra move permanent

-

Bournemouth have confirmed that winger Luis Sinisterra has made his loan move from Leeds United permanent.

The Colombian joined Andoni Iraola’s side on a temporary basis after Leeds’ relegation to the Championship last year, with the Cherries possessing an option to make the deal permanent.

Sinisterra has made 17 appearances for Bournemouth across all competitions, scoring three goals for the club including a stunning 25-yard strike in a 3-0 win over Fulham in December.

On Thursday, reports emerged that Bournemouth had decided to exercise their option to purchase Sinisterra for a fee of around £20million, and the club confirmed the deal was complete on Friday.

Having signed what Bournemouth described as a “long-term” contract, Sinisterra told the club’s website: “I’m really happy to make this move. I’m excited to play for Bournemouth for the long term.

“I feel really comfortable here and the fans are really nice. When I meet them in the streets, they show the love.

“I’m really happy here and I’ve settled really well. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Bournemouth’s chief executive Neill Blake added: “Luis has shown his considerable quality on the pitch and he’s a popular member of the dressing room.

“We believe he’s only going to get better, and we’re excited to continue to work with him on a long-term basis.”
