The Chelsea Supporters Trust has described the Premier League’s decision to schedule the club’s away game at Wolves on Christmas Eve as “totally unacceptable”.
The latest round of television fixtures were announced earlier today with Chelsea’s trip to Molineux confirmed as the first Premier League game to be played a day before Christmas for 28 years, with a 1pm kick-off.
The fixture was originally pencilled in for December 23.

The Chelsea Supporters Trust (CST) have expressed their anger and called on the Premier League to reverse their decision.
A CST statement read: “It is totally unacceptable that Wolves v Chelsea has been scheduled for Christmas Eve.
“Since rumours began to circulate on this issue, the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust has been clear that selecting this kick-off time will place another hurdle in the way of many matchgoing supporters. Not only could this lead to staffing issues at Molineux, but holiday transport timetables will further inconvenience supporters.
“On Tuesday 24 October, we requested an urgent meeting with the relevant decision-makers within the Premier League. We expect that this meeting will be held very soon, alongside the Wolves 1877 Trust, and the Football Supporters’ Association.
“The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust will formally request that the Premier League properly consults supporters on this issue and that they reverse this decision.
“We will provide a further update to CST members in due course.”
Only once before has a game been staged on December 24 since the inception of the Premier League, in 1995 when Leeds beat Manchester United 3-1.
