Crystal Palace have confirmed manager Roy Hodgson is in a stable condition and is undergoing tests in hospital after being taken ill during Thursday’s training session.
Palace abruptly cancelled Thursday’s scheduled press conference to preview Monday’s clash with Everton after Hodgson was taken ill.
Later on Thursday, the Eagles offered a positive update on the 76-year-old’s condition, confirming he was receiving treatment and wishing him a quick recovery.

Widespread reports on Thursday had suggested Hodgson was set to be relieved of his duties after overseeing a dismal run of just two wins in 15 games across all competitions.
Supporter criticism of Hodgson and Palace chairman Steve Parish has intensified in recent weeks, with Monday’s 3-1 loss to Chelsea leaving the Eagles just five points clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone.
Former Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner has reportedly held talks about replacing Hodgson, who returned for a second spell at Selhurst Park in March 2023.
Glasner led Eintracht to UEFA Europa League glory in 2022, with the German side overcoming Rangers in the final. He then left the club at the end of the 2022-23 campaign after overseeing a seventh-placed Bundesliga finish.
