Kylian Mbappe has informed Paris Saint-Germain he will leave the club at the end of the season, according to widespread reports.
The France captain signed a two-year contract extension in 2021 that contained a player option for the 2024-25 campaign but Mbappe has told PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi he has no intention of prolonging his stay at the Parc des Princes and will instead become a free agent on June 30.

Mbappe has been a long-time target for Real Madrid but the Athletic report the Spanish club’s offer – which has been on the table since January – has fallen short of the player’s expectations.
Madrid also tried to prise Mbappe away from Paris in 2022 only for the former Monaco man to turn them down.
The 25-year-old has also been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool but that would bring complications to the wage structure at both clubs, as well as the potential for cuts elsewhere to comply with PSR regulations.
Mbappe, who scored a hat-trick in a losing cause in the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina, has enjoyed another prolific season for PSG, scoring 31 goals in 30 games in all competitions.
