Premier League side Crystal Palace have confirmed that their attacking midfielder, Eberechi Eze, has now signed a new long-term contract with the club.
Roy Hodgson had suggested the club were confident of concluding the negotiations but the 25-year-old has signed a new deal with The Eagles until the summer of 2027, that will mean he will have been contracted to the Selhurst Park outfit for seven seasons.
Eze has been excellent throughout his time at Palace but has really shone since the re-appointment of Roy Hodgson over the March international break.
Eze’s youth career was spent at four different clubs with Arsenal, Fulham, Reading and then Millwall before being released by the latter in 2016.
He joined Queens Park Rangers on a free transfer that summer and eventually broke into the first-team. Whilst with The R’s, he enjoyed a loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers in League Two where he scored five goals in 20 matches.
At QPR, Eze went on to make 112 appearances for the club across all competitions and scored 20 goals. He left Loftus Road for a fee of around £17 million in the summer of 2020.
His move to the Premier League with Crystal Palace has been followed by the south London club continuing to establish themselves as a top-flight regular. He has so far scored 16 goals in 98 appearances for the Croydon-based side.
Eze recently broke into the England setup and made his Three Lions debut in a UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier against Malta over the summer. He has since made an appearance for the national side against Scotland, too. However, he missed the recent October international break due a slight injury which he has recovered from but he has missed out on selection for the upcoming matches against Malta and North Macedonia as England finish their UEFA EURO 2024 qualification campaign.
