Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to return to the Liverpool squad for Saturday’s trip to Tottenham.
The England full-back has missed the Reds’ last four games due to a hamstring injury sustained in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa earlier this month but will be included for the game in North London.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “Trent trained yesterday normally and will train today.
“So then we have to make a decision but he will be in the squad. I’m not a doctor but it looks like he can be in the squad tomorrow and play.”
Liverpool have made an encouraging start to the new season and sit second, two points behind leaders Manchester City, and two points above fourth-placed Tottenham.
Klopp has been impressed by new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou and expects another difficult game on their travels.
“It is a really tough test,” he added. “I can’t remember an easy game. We played at Newcastle, that was tough, Chelsea too. The away games have all been tough and home games not easy.
“Tottenham are doing really well. Ange [Postecoglou] seems to be a top bloke, I’m looking forward to meeting him.
“If you saw Celtic play, you’d know how good a coach he is. He is delivering good football in a year when Harry Kane left. He is doing extremely well, they are exciting to watch. It’ll be a test for both of us.”
