Real Madrid have more than a 50 per cent chance of signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season, believes La Liga president Javier Tebas.
Madrid came close to signing Mbappe in 2022, but the France star ultimately opted against the move and penned a bumper new contract with PSG.
However, Mbappe told PSG last June that he would not be exercising a one-year extension clause in that deal, and he is now able to negotiate with other clubs ahead of becoming a free agent in June.
Mbappe is believed to be on good terms with key figures at the Santiago Bernabeu and Los Blancos are reportedly confident of getting their man at the second time of asking.

Speaking to Fabrizio Romano on Thursday, La Liga chief Tebas outlined his belief that the forward will be donning Madrid’s iconic white shirt next season.
Asked about the likelihood of Mbappe moving to Spain, Tebas said: “I said it was around 50 per cent a few weeks ago, now I’m even more sure.
“Every day that passes and Mbappe does not sign a new contract with PSG, the percentage increases.”

Mbappe is not the only big name to be linked with a move to Madrid, with Los Blancos reportedly eyeing a swoop for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies.
Last week, meanwhile, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was forced to deny rumours that striker Erling Haaland is interested in a move to the Bernabeu.
Tebas does not believe a move for Mbappe would jeopardise Madrid’s ability to do other deals, praising the club for managing their finances prudently in recent years.
“I don’t know the costs of the Mbappe deal but in any case, Real have an excellent financial situation,” Tebas said. “They never did crazy things in recent years.”
