Maidstone to face Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry in last 16 of FA Cup

-

Sixth-tier Maidstone United will face another Championship side in the fifth round of the FA Cup after eliminating Ipswich Town on Saturday, having been drawn away at either Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry City.

George Elokobi’s men are the lowest-ranked team to reach the last 16 after goals from Lamar Reynolds and Sam Corne guided them to a remarkable 2-1 win at Portman Road last time out.

They will visit the winner of a replay between Wednesday and Coventry, who played out a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough on Friday.

Holders Manchester City face another all-Premier League tie against Luton Town after Nathan Ake’s late goal handed them a 1-0 win over Tottenham, while Liverpool will host Watford or Southampton.

Elsewhere, Wolves will host Brighton and Hove Albion after overcoming Black Country rivals West Brom in a game which was overshadowed by crowd trouble on Sunday.

Fourth-tier Wrexham, who are owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, will host Newcastle United in an attractive tie if they spring a surprise against Blackburn Rovers in Monday’s fourth-round match.

Meanwhile, the winner of Chelsea’s replay against Aston Villa could host Leeds United, who face a rematch of their own against Plymouth Argyle after being pegged back in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Full FA Cup fifth-round draw (ties to be played in the week commencing February 26):

Blackburn Rovers or Wrexham v Newcastle United

Chelsea or Aston Villa v Leeds United or Plymouth Argyle

Bournemouth v Leicester City

Liverpool or Norwich City v Watford or Southampton

Bristol City or Nottingham Forest v Newport County or Manchester United
