Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said his side will show how “resilient” they are against Liverpool after conceding two goals in 82 seconds of second-half added time to lose 4-3 at Chelsea.
Ten Hag’s side recovered from 2-0 behind to lead 3-2 through Alejandro Garnacho’s header midway through the second period, only for Cole Palmer to score in the 110th and 111th minutes to settle a remarkable contest.
“You saw we were dominating the game and it was brilliant how we played – we deserved to win,” Ten Hag told TNT Sports.
“But you cannot give it away like we did and we have to manage this game better. When it gets chaotic, you have to deal with it as a team and we made the wrong decisions and we didn’t help each other out as a team.”

Chelsea v Man United ‘setback’
“This is definitely a setback and now we have to deal with this and get up,” said Ten Hag, whose side host the league-leading Reds on Sunday.
“We are resilient and you have seen that today. We can play outstanding football in moments but football is about results.”
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who has taken over football operations at United and is expected to take a view on Ten Hag’s position at the end of the campaign, was in the stands at Stamford Bridge.
One of Ratcliffe’s key figures in his planned transformation of the club, Sir Dave Brailsford, was alongside the billionaire businessman.
Ten Hag said he did not have an update on the injuries which forced defenders Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans off the pitch.
