According to several journalists, such as David Ornstein of The Athletic as well as Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain forward is on the verge of completing a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
It has been reported that the 31 year-old attacker has already undergone his medical ahead of a move that is believed to be for a fee just short of 100 million euros.
Neymar has been a part of first-team training with Luis Enrique’s squad throughout the summer but it had been suggested last week that he would like to finally depart the French capital after joining the club in 2017.
Born in Mogi das Cruzes, Neymar began his youth career with Portuguesa Santista before joining Santos at the age of 11 years old. He made his Santos debut in 2009, aged 17, and went on to score 136 goals in 225 appearances for the club before his departure in 2013.
He moved to Barcelona that summer and went on to make 186 appearances, scoring 105 goals, for the Catalans. Whilst in Spain, he was widely viewed as one of the very best footballers in the world.
Since joining PSG, despite impressive seasons in Ligue 1 and the occasional excellent performance in the UEFA Champions League, it has been a bit of a tumultuous time for the Brazil international.
He departs Europe, for now, though, with two La Liga titles, three Copa del Reys, a Supercopa de Espana, UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, five Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France wins, two Coupe de la Ligues and three Trophee des Champions’ to his name.
In what has been a major summer of spending in the Saudi Pro League, and a summer that could permanently alter the landscape and structure of world football, Al-Hilal have been among the heaviest of spenders.
Jorge Jesus was appointed at the start of the summer and ‘The Bosses’ as they are nicknamed have added Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom this summer.
It is expected that Neymar will sign a two-year deal with Al-Hilal and will travel to Saudi Arabia this week ahead of making his potential debut at home to Al Feiha on Saturday.
