The Italians, last season’s beaten finalists after losing to Sevilla in a penalty shoot-out, were paired with the Dutch club in today’s play-off round draw in Nyon.

Winners of these ties – which pit teams that finished second in the Europa League group stage with third-placed finishers in the Champions League – go through to the last 16.
The British representatives – Liverpool, Brighton, West Ham and Rangers – all finished top of their Europa League groups and qualified automatically.

Roma’s Serie A rivals Milan take on French side Rennes while Ligue 1 are also represented by Marseille, Toulouse and Lens, who meet Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica and Freiburg respectively.
The first legs of the play-offs will be played on February 15, 2024, with the second legs on February 22.
