Mohamed Salah was substituted after appearing to sustain a hamstring injury during Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations meeting with Ghana on Thursday, in a major scare for Liverpool.
Salah, who is looking to win the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in his glittering career, went down and received treatment during first-half stoppage time, with the game still goalless.
Salah then indicated to Egypt’s medical team that he could not continue, holding his left thigh as he trudged off to be replaced by Mostafa Fathi.

Thursday’s Group B contest eventually finished 2-2, with Omar Marmoush and Mostafa Mohamed netting for the Pharaohs, who twice fought back from behind to move onto two points.
West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus scored twice for Ghana, though Chris Hughton’s team are now on the brink of a humiliating early exit after losing their opening game against Cape Verde on Sunday.
Egypt and Liverpool now face an anxious wait for an update on Salah’s condition, with the Pharaohs due to round off their group-stage campaign against Cape Verde on Monday.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to see Salah avoid any major fitness setbacks, with the Reds still in contention to win four major trophies this season.
Should Salah be able to play on at the tournament and Egypt reach the final on February 11, the winger will miss six further Liverpool games.
The Reds face Bournemouth, Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley in the Premier League before February 11, while they also have the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final tie against Fulham on Wednesday and are due to host Norwich City in the FA Cup on January 28.
