With the first double gameweek of the season having come to an end, we take a look at the players who scored the most FPL points.
Ollie Watkins (£8.0m) – 23 Points
When both Heung-Min Son and Erling Haaland achieved a score of 20 points in Gameweek 4, we didn’t think that score would be eclipsed any time soon. However, that’s exactly what Ollie Watkins did in Aston Villa’s 6-1 demolishing of Brighton. The striker, who is currently available at his original starting price of £8.0m, helped himself to a hat-trick and two assists in the emphatic win, equating to a mammoth 23-point score and propelling him to 54 points for the season – more than any other player. The Villa frontman has only blanked in one Premier League game so far this season.
Martin Odegaard (£8.5m) – 17 Points
Odegaard recorded his second double-figure haul of the season in Double Gameweek 7, with the Norwegian scoring once and providing two assists in Arsenal’s 0-4 win away at Bournemouth. Three bonus points also went the way of the Gunners midfielder, who came away from the fixture with 17 points. That is now five attacking returns in seven Premier League games for Odegaard, who is on course to match, if not better, the 23 goal involvements he registered in FPL last season.
Joachim Andersen (£4.8m) – 15 Points
Another player who has hit double figures for points on two occasions this season, and perhaps surprisingly so, is Crystal Palace centre back Joachim Andersen. The Danish international’s fine volley was the only goal of the game in Palace’s 0-1 victory against Mn Utd at Old Trafford in Double Gameweek 7, and constituted the defender’s second Premier League goal of the season. With his 15-point return, he now sits atop the point-scoring charts for defenders, and is averaging 6.4 points per game to date.
