As the international break comes to an end and Gameweek 13 deadline draws closer, we take a glance at a number of form players giving FPL managers reason to include them in their respective squads
On the back of his goal, assist and 13 fantasy points in Gameweek 12 as Arsenal overcame Burnley, Leandro Trossard (£6.5m) was back on the scoresheet during the international break, finding the net for Belgium in their 5-0 beating of Azerbaijan. He also scored for the Gunners in their most recent Champions League game, a 2-0 win over Sevilla. Such a run of form may well see him given a starting berth again in Mikel Arteta in Gameweek 13, which sees Arsenal away to Brentford in a London Derby.
We touched upon the form of Cole Palmer (£5.2m) leading into Gameweek 12 and the 21-year-old didn’t disappoint, scoring his fourth penalty of the season to grab Chelsea a point in their thrilling 4-4 draw with Palmer’s former club Man City. That goal was his seventh attacking return in six gameweeks and has led to him being called up to the England senior squad. On the back of making his debut for the Three Lions, Palmer’s confidence will be at an all-time high ahead of Chelsea’s Gameweek 13 trip to Newcastle.
Palmer isn’t the only in-form player from Mauricio Pochettino’s side though, with forward Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m) having scored four times across the past two gameweeks, backing up his hat-trick against Spurs with the third of Chelsea’s four goals vs Man City. Formerly a popular FPL asset, Jackson’s form could attract attention from FPL managers ahead of the weekend.
Of course, Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) will continue to retain and even improve on his high ownership percentage as he continues to find the net for fun. Especially after scoring four goals in one game for Egypt over the international break. Salah bagged a brace in Gameweek 12 and boasts seven goals in his last five Premier League appearances. Fantasy bosses will be hoping for more Salah success in Liverpool’s clash away to Man City in Gameweek 13.
