FPL 2023-24 – Free Hit XI For Gameweek 5

-

Here’s a rundown of our suggested Free Hit team for Gameweek 5.

The following team is within the £100m budget at the time of writing, with the cheapest possible substitutes used:

3-4-3

GOALKEEPER: Vicario – £5.1m – Tottenham
Fixture: vs Sheffield Utd (H)

The top FPL point-scorer among goalkeepers so far, and next faces winless promoted side Sheffield Utd.

DEFENDER: Ben Chilwell – £5.8m – Chelsea
Fixture: vs Bournemouth (a)

A constant attacking threat down the left-hand-side for Chelsea, despite not having the points to show for it just yet. A monster score is surely just around the corner.

DEFENDER: Destiny Udogie – £4.7m – Tottenham
Fixture: vs Sheffield Utd (H)

Has assisted in each of his last two games for a Spurs side that is looking increasingly impressive under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

DEFENDER: Matty Cash – £4.7m – Aston Villa
Fixture: vs Crystal Palace (H)

Feast or famine so far for the Aston Villa full-back, but his 17-point haul against Burnley in Gameweek 3 shows what he is capable of.

MIDFIELDER: Mo Salah – £12.5m – Liverpool
Fixture: vs Wolves (a)

Has scored or assisted in his last ten Premier League appearances for Liverpool, and faces a Wolves side who have lost three of their four league games this season.

MIDFIELDER: Heung-Min Son – £9.1m – Tottenham
Fixture: vs Sheffield (H)

A fabulous hat-trick against Burnley in Gameweek 4 is followed up with another fixture against one of the promoted clubs, this time winless Sheffield Utd.

MIDFIELDER: Bukayo Saka – £8.6m – Arsenal
Fixture: vs Everton (a)

Has registered attacking returns in three of Arsenal’s four Premier League fixtures to date and is expected to be among the points against struggling Everton in Gameweek 5.

MIDFIELDER: Moussa Diaby – £6.6m – Aston Villa
Fixture: vs Crystal Palace (H)

Three attacking returns so far in his debut Premier League season, and Gameweek 5 opponents Crystal Palace haven’t kept a clean sheet since Gameweek 1.

FORWARD: Erling Haaland – £14.1m – Man City
Fixture: vs West Ham (a)

Will he ever not feature in this article? If he stays fit and maintains his incredible scoring rate, then he’ll almost certainly be a permanent fixture.

FORWARD: Julian Alvarez – £6.7m – Man City
Fixture: vs West Ham (a)

Is enjoying an extended run in the side and has the FPL returns to show for it. An excellent addition to your Free Hit squad alongside Haaland.

FORWARD: Taiwo Awoniyi – £6.6m – Nottingham Forest
Fixture: vs Burnley (H)

On a streak of either scoring or assisting in his last eight Premier League appearances – a feat only bettered by Salah at present.
