As Gameweek 10 starts to loom large for Fantasy Premier League managers, we’re eying up those main bandwagon players drawing the most notice within the FPL community.
Having scored in consecutive gameweeks from the penalty spot and picked up four attacking returns across his last three appearances for Chelsea, Cole Palmer (£5.0m) is building up a bandwagon following. This is mainly due to his incredibly cheap price-tag, which frees up significant funds for those FPL managers bringing him into their respective squads. With 23 fantasy points accrued since Gameweek 7 and penalties seemingly under his domain, it’s understandable why Palmer is attracting such attention. Chelsea host Brentford in Gameweek 10.
Following a shoulder injury sustained by Andy Robertson on international duty for Scotland, the Liverpool left-back has been forced to have an operation, so the expectation is that he will be out for a number of weeks having already missed Gameweek 9. With that in mind, teammate and fellow left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.5m) is currently the most transferred in defender within the FPL player-base, having picked up almost a quarter of a million new owners at the time of writing. After starting in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Everton, Tsimikas is likely to be given an extended run at left-back and his price-tag represents a cheap route into Liverpool’s defence, leading to this bandwagon. Gameweek 10 sees the Reds take on Nottingham Forest.
The latest Aston Villa asset to court his own bandwagon is midfielder Douglas Luiz (£5.5m), who has been brought in by over 300,000 fantasy managers. His big haul in Gameweek 9 has a huge part to play in this, Luiz scoring twice and recording 15 FPL points in Aston Villa’s 4-1 win over West Ham. He is Villa’s regular penalty taker, which enhances his bandwagon appeal hugely as has been the case with Palmer. Not to mention his side’s attacking prowess, which has been outstanding under Unai Emery. His new owners will be hoping for another haul come Gameweek 10 against Luton.
