FPL Goalkeepers are the subject of interest here, as we take a look at the lay of the land ahead of Gameweek 12.
With three clean sheets in their last five Premier League fixtures, many fantasy bosses are looking at Crystal Palace as a rich source of defensive points, and goalkeeper Sam Johnstone (£4.6m) should certainly be included in that given that he is the joint highest point-scorer amongst goalkeepers at present. The Eagles stopper earned nine points in the Gameweek 11 win at Burnley on account of a clean sheet, five saves and two bonus points. More returns could be on the way, with Gameweek 12 seeing Palace entertain Everton.
Tied with Johnstone when it comes to overall FPL points is Alisson Becker (£5.6m), who remarkably gained six points in Gameweek 11 despite the fact Liverpool conceded to Luton. The Brazilian’s four saves were enough to earn him all three bonus points (no goalkeeper has collected more over the course of the season), and he has now accumulated 21 points across the last three gameweeks. The Reds host Brentford in Gameweek 12 though, who have only once failed to score in the Premier League this season.
Andre Onana (£4.8m) owners have suffered of late, but there was some reward for their faith when the Cameroonian stopper helped Man Utd keep a clean sheet against Fulham – their first in five gameweeks. Back-to-back shutouts could be on the cards though, as Erik ten Hag’s men take on promoted side Luton in Gameweek 12.
It seemed only a matter of time before Matt Turner (£4.1m) lost his place to summer signing Odysseas Vlachodimos (£4.5m) in the Nottingham Forest goal, and that came to be in Gameweek 11 with the Greek international making his Premier League debut. The 29-year-old made an instance impact, making three saves in a clean sheet against Aston Villa, and is expected to keep his place for the Gameweek 12 meeting with West Ham.
