As Gameweek 13 hovers in the distance, we’ve got our eyes trained back on those bandwagon players attracting those managers within the FPL community looking to bring in a new signing or two into their respective squads.
We often see a player develop a large bandwagon during an international break as FPL bosses look to transfer them in early before any potential price-rise. That seems to have been the case over the past week or so when it comes to Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m), who has been acquired by over 280,000 managers since Gameweek 12, which saw him net his third goal in four Premier League fixtures.
However, reports are emerging that the West Ham midfielder is suffering from a knee injury and has had a scan over the international break after withdrawing from the England squad. With that in mind, any FPL bosses eying up Bowen would be wise to hold fire before jumping on this particular bandwagon, with the 26-year-old’s Gameweek 13 participation surely in doubt.
One player who is expected to feature heavily in Gameweek 13 is Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke (£6.4m). FPL managers will always be enticed by a lesser-priced forward and as it stands, Solanke is the only player in his position to have over 100,000 new owners across the international break, although Erling Haaland should jump him on that list fairly soon.
It’s easy to see why a bandwagon is developing for Solanke, who netted a brace and 13 fantasy points against Newcastle in Gameweek 12. With Sheffield Utd away next up for the Cherries, many will likely see this as a fixture in which Solanke can once again profit in front of goal.
On the back of three attacking returns across his last two games for Everton, the next bandwagon defender is emerging in the form of Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.4m). The Ukrainian left-back has racked up 28 FPL points across the last three gameweeks despite Everton only keeping a clean sheet in one of those games and at such a cheap price-tag, plenty of fantasy bosses are finding routes in which to add Mykolenko into their respective backlines.
