Here’s a look at the leading lights in terms of FPL assets in Gameweek 14.
Ben Mee (£4.8m) – 14 Points
Mee has barely featured this season with injury keeping him on the sidelines for the majority of the campaign to date. Not only that, but the five appearances he did make prior to Gameweek 14 yielded only seven points. It was certainly not expected then, that he would be the highest FPL point scorer this weekend. The Brentford centre-back both scored and assisted against Luton, to finish on an impressive 14 points.
Enzo Fernandez (£4.8m) – 14 Points
It’s fair to say it’s taken a little longer than expected for Chelsea’s record signing to find the net in the Premier League for the first time, but Gameweek 14 saw the Argentinian do so twice in Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Brighton. Maximum bonus points naturally came his way, but given how infrequent his attacking returns are, it seems highly unlikely that he will gain significantly more owners any time soon.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.0m) – 13 Points
A player far more accustomed to producing attacking returns, Alexander-Arnold scored for the second Premier League running in Gameweek 14, adding an assist and three bonus points to boot for what his highest FPL haul of the season. If it wasn’t for the Liverpool star’s eye-watering price-tag, there’s no doubt that he would be higher-owned in the community. What is for certain though, is that FPL managers will be seriously considering how they are going to fit him into their teams.
Kieran Trippier (£7.0m) – 12 Points
Another premium defender – this time the highest FPL point-scorer in his position – produced the goods in Gameweek 14, as Trippier picked up a clean sheet, assist and three bonus points in Newcastle’s 1-0 victory over Man Utd. That was the Newcastle defender’s fourth double-figure haul of the season, and he has now passed the 50% mark in terms of overall ownership.
