Who are the top-performing goalkeepers in FPL at the moment? We take a look at the lay of the land when it comes to fantasy shot-stoppers.
Jordan Pickford (£4.4m) was a popular choice in the FPL community at the start of the season, but with Everton failing to keep a clean sheet in their first seven Premier League games, there was a mass exodus of owners. Those who have kept faith all this time, however, deserve their recent rewards. Pickford has helped the Toffees keep three straight clean sheets, earning 24 points in that time, and Sean Dyche’s men could extend that run given that they face promoted Burnley this weekend.

Like Pickford, Emiliano Martinez (£5.0m) earned gained ten fantasy points in Gameweek 16, thanks to Aston Villa’s excellent 1-0 victory over Arsenal. What made it even more impressive was the fact it backed up another win and clean sheet against reigning Premier League champions Man City. Villa face Brentford and Sheffield Utd in the next two gameweeks – fixtures ripe for further clean sheets.
Bournemouth stopper Neto (£4.5m) has also kept successive clean sheets, and the Cherries have a favourable fixture run coming up of Luton, Nottingham Forest and Fulham. Fulham’s Bernd Leno (£4.7m) is likewise a man in form with back-to-back shutouts, and stood out is fact that the German earned two bonus points in his side’s 5-0 win over West Ham in Gameweek 16. Leno is once again the highest point-scorer overall when it comes to goalkeepers.
A number of FPL managers are currently sweating over the availability of their goalkeepers, as injuries continue to mount up in the position. Robert Sanchez (£4.7m), Sam Johnstone (£4.6m) and Alphonse Areola (£4.2m) are all flagged at present, and fantasy bosses will be eagerly awaiting some news in the pre-Gameweek 17 press conferences on Thursday and Friday.
