Now the international break is at an end, we’re eying up those bandwagon picks among the Fantasy Premier League community heading into Gameweek 5.
Following his goal and two assists in Gameweek 4 against Fulham, Man City forward Julian Alvarez (£6.7m) is a bandwagon plenty of FPL managers are jumping on. Over 400,000 people have brought the Argentinian into their respective squads in the expectation that he will start in Gameweek 5, which sees Pep Guardiola’s side travel to West Ham.
Another forward proving extremely popular is Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez (£7.4m) following a couple of lucrative gameweeks. After coming off the bench against Newcastle in Gameweek 3, Nunez shocked the Magpies with two goals to hand ten-man Liverpool a 1-2 victory. Nunez backed that return up in Gameweek 4 after being rewarded with a start by Jurgen Klopp, picking up two assists and 8 fantasy points. With 19 points across the past two gameweeks, the Nunez bandwagon is firmly rolling ahead of Gameweek 5 with Liverpool travelling to Wolves.
After making his Sheffield Utd debut in Gameweek 4, forward Cameron Archer (£4.5m) made an immediate impact, registering a goal, an assist and 12 FPL points. Such a cheap price has unsurprisingly seen a bandwagon develop with plenty of fantasy bosses transferring in Archer.
However, the Evan Ferguson (£6.0m) bandwagon may have hit a roadblock, due to a knee injury which ruled him out of the international break. Ferguson had struck a brilliant hat-trick for Brighton against Newcastle in Gameweek 4, which had led to him garnering plenty of FPL interest. Unfortunately, this is likely to subside should there be bad news regarding Ferguson’s injury status leading up to Gameweek 5. Roberto De Zerbi’s pre match press conference ahead of Brighton’s trip to Old Trafford should tell us more.
