We take a look at the players who secured the biggest point hauls in Gameweek 5.
Bernardo Silva (£6.4m) – 13 Points
Bernardo Silva’s first attacking returns of the season saw him register both a goal and assist against West Ham, and together with his three bonus points, earned him 13 FPL points. The Portuguese international has been known to go on hot streaks of form in the past, but that will not be the case this time around. FPL managers who have brought him in early this week will have unfortunately been stung as Bernardo suffered an injury in Man City’s midweek Champions League tie with Crvena zvezda. The versatile midfielder is now unavailable for Gameweek 6, and possible longer.
Andy Robertson (£6.5m) – 11 Points
Before the weekend, Andy Robertson’s last goal for Liverpool came against Wolves on the final day of the 2021-22 season, so the midlands club are obviously a favourite opponent of the Scotsman as he found the net against them once more in Gameweek 5. With Trent Alexander-Arnold out injured, there is more onus on Robertson to provide the attacking threat from full-back, and he duly obliged. Robertson’s goal was his first attacking return of the season, and together with three bonus points, earned him 11 FPL points.
Leandro Trossard (£6.6m) – 11 Points
Despite not starting Arsenal’s fixture with Everton at Goodison Park last weekend, Leandro Trossard made a telling impact off the bench and ended up with the joint-second highest score of the gameweek. The Belgian entered the field after just 24 minutes due to an injury sustained to teammate Gabriel Martinelli, and his fine finish midway through the second half was the difference between the two sides. With the timescale of Martinelli’s return unclear, Trossard could be set for a run of starts in the first team, and represents a temping differential investment for FPL managers.
