There are always a few injuries to discuss after an international break, so it’s time to see who’s available and who could miss out in Gameweek 5.
Sven Botman (Newcastle) – LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE
Missed the Gameweek 4 defeat to Brighton but a return to training indicates the centre-back is ready to make his return.
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) – OUT
Will be forced to sit out the clash with Wolves in Gameweek 5 due to having his suspension extended.
Reece James (Chelsea) – OUT
There was some talk that James could recover in time for Gameweek 5, but those hopes have been quelled by Maurizio Pochettino, with the right-back still a couple of weeks away from action.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) – OUT
Has not recovered from the hamstring injury that forced him off against Aston Villa prior to the international break. Unlikely to be out for a significant period of time, though.
Jack Grealish (Man City) – OUT
A painful quadricep strain keeps Grealish out of the West Ham fixture, but it shouldn’t be long before he is back in the fold.
Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) – AVAILABLE
Fit and available according to Mikel Arteta, despite some talk of the Arsenal star playing through the pain barrier owing to an ongoing injury.
Antony (Man Utd) – OUT
Is not being considered for selection while he deals with off-the-field matters. How soon he can return to action is unclear at present.
Ansu Fati (Brighton) – AVAILABLE
Will make his Seagulls debut in Gameweek 5 when Brighton travel to Man Utd, but it is unknown whether this will be from the start or not.
Evan Ferguson (Brighton) – 50/50
The Gameweek 4 hat-trick hero had to withdraw from international duty with a knee injury but did return to Brighton training on Thursday, so has a chance of inclusion.
