As the latest round of European fixtures reach their conclusion Gameweek 14 begins to emerge from the background and with that in mind, we cast a spotlight on West Ham’s new signing Mohammed Kudus (£6.6m), who will look to maintain his recent good form this coming weekend.
Kudus had a big breakthrough season with Ajax in 2022-23, scoring 18 goals in all competitions for the Dutch giants, making 42 appearances. That form saw him court plenty of transfer interest in the summer and a few days before the end of the window, West Ham got their man. The Hammers paid just short of £40m for the Ghanaian international after he had already netted four goals in just three games for Ajax at the start of the campaign.

However, it has taken Kudus time to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League and after joining West Ham late on, he had to integrate himself into the squad before David Moyes would give him significant minutes on the pitch. Therefore, we didn’t see Kudus start a Premier League fixture for West Ham until Gameweek 10, despite making his debut all the way back in Gameweek 4.
But once Kudus successfully broke into the Hammers’ starting line-up, he hasn’t looked back since. Gameweek 11 was his first big breakthrough performance, as he picked up a goal and an assist against Brentford. Kudus then backed that up two gameweeks later, with a brace of assists in West Ham’s hard-fought 1-2 victory away at Burnley. This means that over the course of the past three gameweeks, Kudus has recorded two double-figure point-returns.
Next up for Kudus in Gameweek 14 is West Ham’s home clash with Crystal Palace and in what is expected to be Kudus’ fifth consecutive Premier League start, it would be no surprise to see him among the fantasy points once again. As interest gathers over his FPL credentials, transferring Kudus in early could prove hugely rewarding.
