With the Gameweek 6 deadline on the horizon, we shine a spotlight on Wolves midfielder Pedro Neto (£5.5m), who is quietly making a name for himself once again among FPL circles following a lean period and could prove a very attractive fantasy prospect ahead of the newest round of Premier League fixtures.
It feels like Pedro Neto has been around for a long time in FPL circles and that’s because he really has been, joining Wolves all the way back in 2019. But a mixture of injuries and inconsistency has seen him fail to really make a breakthrough in the top flight, despite clearly having the ability to do so.
Neto picked up five goals and eight assists back in the 2020-21 campaign and many thought he would go to the next level the following season, but injury put paid to that, the Portuguese international gaining just 459 minutes of action. In 2022-23, Neto again failed to accrue 1000 minutes of playtime, but under Wolves’ latest boss Gary O’Neil in this current campaign, things are looking up again.
So far, Neto has started and played 90 minutes in all five league matches contested so far by Wolves. Most important from an FPL perspective, Neto has started adding attacking returns to those minutes. Gameweek 3 saw him set up Wolves’ winning goal away at Everton, before he added two further assists to his tally the following Sunday, albeit in a losing effort against Crystal Palace. Neto was once again among the assists in Gameweek 5 and over the course of the past three gameweeks, he has accumulated 22 fantasy points.
Priced generously and guaranteed minutes, it would be no surprise to see Neto start to add goals and further FPL points to his already credible tally this season and as Wolves get set to face a Luton side in Gameweek 6 still without a point in the Premier League, this may well be the fixture that we see it.
