Brighton striker Evan Ferguson has signed a new six-year deal at the Amex Stadium, with coach Roberto De Zerbi predicting a “very big future” for the 19 year old.
Ferguson moved to the south coast from Irish club Bohemians in January 2021 and has established himself as part of De Zerbi’s first-choice XI despite his tender years.
He has scored 11 times in 30 Premier League appearances for Brighton, including a hat-trick against Newcastle in September, and established himself in the Republic of Ireland international set up.
De Zerbi said: “Evan deserves this new contract and he has a very big future ahead of him.”

Technical director David Weir added: “Evan is a brilliant young talent and we are delighted for him.
“He’s shown his ability at club and international level, after breaking into the team at the start of the year, and we are looking forward to working with him and watching his continued progress.”
Ferguson’s rapid rise has attracted interest from elsewhere with Manchester United among those reportedly tracking his progress.
