With the Gameweek 6 deadline on the horizon, we run the rule over some of the form players who are giving FPL managers plenty to think about over the course of the week.
Last week, we spoke about two players who have registered an attacking return in each of the opening four gameweeks of the season. Both of those players kept their respective runs going in Gameweek 5. Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) picked up two assists against Wolves, whilst Taiwo Awoniyi (£6.6m) gained an assist of his own for Nottingham Forest vs Burnley. The pair boast 11 attacking returns between them so far this Premier League campaign (Salah six and Awoniyi five) and both should be courting serious interest from plenty of FPL managers prior to Gameweek 6.
Like Salah and Awoniyi, James Ward-Prowse (£6.1m) is also yet to go a weekend since his first Premier League appearance of 2023-24 in Gameweek 2 without picking up at least one attacking return. If he isn’t scoring, he’s assisting and the midfielder already has two goals and three assists for new club West Ham. Ward-Prowse’s brilliance at set pieces enhances his Gameweek 6 appeal hugely.
One forward whose recent numbers have gone under the radar from an FPL perspective are those of Odsonne Edouard (£5.6m). The Crystal Palace forward has now netted three goals across the last two gameweeks, backing up his brace against Wolves with the Eagles’ only goal away to Aston Villa last time out.
Another striker who could be building up a head of steam is Callum Wilson (£7.8m), who has a history of hot scoring streaks throughout his career. Wilson has managed to score in back-to-back gameweeks against Brighton and Brentford respectively and it’s always a smart move for an FPL manager to consider jumping on Wilson when he’s in such form.
