As we edge towards the latest Fantasy Premier League transfer deadline, it’s time to run down those enticing midfield picks who stand out going into Gameweek 6.
Coming off the back of his first Premier League goal for Man City, Jeremy Doku (£6.5m) will be looking to build on that at home to Nottingham Forest. Injuries to other midfielders means that the direct winger is likely to start for Pep Guardiola’s side in Gameweek 6. Fellow Man City midfielder Phil Foden (£7.6m) is also likely to prove popular having recorded an attacking return in three of his last four Premier League appearances.
Whilst picking between Brighton midfielders is a challenge due to Roberto De Zerbi’s penchant for rotation, the correct choice could see you reap serious rewards. The Seagulls host Bournemouth in Gameweek 6 and after three goals in four league starts so far this season, Solly March (£6.6m) will no doubt want to add to this tally on Sunday. Two of the three attacking returns gained by Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) have been at home, whilst loan signing Ansu Fati (£6.5m) could make his first Premier League start of the campaign.
Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) has racked up at least one attacking return in all five gameweeks to be played so far, accumulating two goals, four assists and 33 FPL points in total. This bodes well for his ownership ahead of Gameweek 6, which sees Liverpool host West Ham, an opponent Salah has had plenty of joy against previously. On the opposite side though, James Ward-Prowse (£6.1m) boasts two goals, three assists and 29 fantasy points in four appearances for the Hammers, whilst Jarrod Bowen (£7.1m) has found the net in every West Ham away fixture this season and will pose a threat to Liverpool on the counter attack.
