It’s time to take a look at which players are being bought and sold in high numbers ahead of Gameweek 6.
TRANSFERS IN
Julian Alvarez (£6.8m) – Man City
By far the most popular transfer in this week is Julian Alvarez. The overwhelming majority of FPL managers already own Erling Haaland, but with Alvarez now the second highest point-scorer in the game, many are now flocking towards a double-up of Man City forwards. The Argentine has registered seven attacking returns in five Premier League games so far.
Sven Botman (£4.5m) – Newcastle
After injury kept him out of the Gameweek 4 defeat to Brighton, Botman returned to the heart of the Newcastle defence for last weekend’s clash with Brentford and promptly helped his team keep a clean sheet. With the Magpies set to embark on a favourable run of fixtures, there is a ground swell of interest in the budget defender.
Bryan Mbeumo (£6.9m) – Brentford
Despite the fact he blanked against Newcastle in Gameweek 5, there are still plenty of FPL managers interested in the signature of Bryan Mbeumo, who has scored four Premier League goals this season. Only Haaland has managed more at this stage of the campaign, and with Brentford taking on Everton and Nottingham Forest in their next two fixtures, Mbeumo’s stock remains high.
TRANSFERS OUT
Nicholas Jackson (£7.0m) – Chelsea
Jackson was one of the highest sold players ahead of Gameweek 5, and that is proving to be the case once more after the Chelsea striker failed to make an impact in the goalless draw with Bournemouth last weekend. After rising £0.2m in value not so long back, Jackson has now returned to his original price of £7.0m as an increasing number of FPL managers show him the door.
Alexander Isak (£7.6m) – Newcastle
Like Jackson, Isak is one of the most sold players for a second gameweek in a row and that is hardly surprising given the fact he didn’t play a minute of action in Gameweek 5. The Swede was then fielded against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, prompting fears among owners that Callum Wilson is now the preferred choice in the Premier League.
Ben Chilwell (£5.8m) – Chelsea
Another Chelsea player who is being transferred out en masse is Ben Chilwell, almost certainly due to the fact he was benched against Bournemouth in Gameweek 5. However, it’s possible that was an exception to the rule, rather than the norm from now on, so those sellers could well live to regret this decision given Chilwell’s exceptionally high ceiling when it comes to FPL points.
