We take a look at which goalkeepers are in form ahead of Gameweek 10.
Gameweek 10 saw Alisson Becker (£5.5m) record just his second Premier League clean sheet of the season when Liverpool saw off local rivals Everton by two goals to nil. Two bonus points came the way of the Brazilian, who finished on eight points – more than any other goalkeeper in the gameweek. Given the fact that Jurgen Klopp’s side now take on Nottingham Forest, before a trip to Luton, we may begin to see more investment in the premium stopper.
Newcastle’s Nick Pope (£5.5m), meanwhile, has been far more accustomed to keeping clean sheets this season. The Magpies number one recorded his fourth shutout in his last five gameweeks as Eddie Howe’s side swatted aside Crystal Palace in Gameweek 4. Newcastle take on Wolves this weekend, and Pope’s FPL owners will be anticipating more points coming their way.
The more budget-friendly Mark Flekken (£4.5m) returned to the Brentford squad after a bout of illness and promptly kept a clean sheet for his owners. However, with the Bees’ next four Premier League fixtures seeing them face Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool and Arsenal, now is probably not the time to invest in him.
The only other clean sheet of the gameweek belonged to Vicario (£5.2m), who made three saves in Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over fellow Londoners Fulham on Monday. The Spurs stopper is now the highest FPL point scorer among goalkeepers this season, with 42 points to his name, surpassing his opposite number in that match, Bernd Leno (£4.7m). Friday sees Tottenham face Crystal Palace in the first match of the next round of fixtures, so Vicario owners – 7.2% of the total playerbase at the moment – will be hoping to start their gameweek on a positive note.
