As we start focusing on the upcoming round of Premier League fixtures, it’s time to take a peek at those shrewd midfield selections who could prove lucrative assets during Gameweek 11.
After a lull in form, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo (£6.7m) is back to providing the returns that saw him establish himself as such a popular FPL asset earlier this season. The 24-year-old has recorded a goal and an assist in consecutive league managers for the Bees, racking up 27 fantasy points in total. Expect his ownership to rise further ahead of Brentford’s Gameweek 11 showdown with West Ham.
That contest should also see Jarrod Bowen (£7.4m) attract significant FPL attention when considering that the winger has scored in all five of West Ham’s away league fixtures so far in 2023-24, accruing 43 FPL points in the process. Bowen was also on target midweek at the London Stadium as the Hammers’ defeated Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
Fantasy managers will likely want to capitalise on Man City playing Bournemouth in Gameweek 11, by potentially loading up on midfielders from Pep Guardiola’s side. Phil Foden (£7.5m) appeals on the back of scoring his first league goal since Gameweek 6 at home to Nottingham Forest, while Rodri (£5.6m) is also an enticing option following assists in each of Man City’s last two games in all competitions.
Of course, it would be remiss to ignore Mohamed Salah (£12.9m), currently the highest scoring player among the entire FPL player-base. The Egyptian has found the net five times across his last three Premier League appearances, accumulating 39 fantasy points over that period. Away to a Luton side in Gameweek 11 who are yet to keep a Premier League clean sheet, represents a golden opportunity for him to extend his rich vein of form in front of goal and delight plenty of FPL managers in the process.
Trailing 5 points behind Salah is Heung-Min Son (£9.6m), whose Spurs side takes on Chelsea in a Gameweek 11 London derby. Following back-to-back double-figure point-hauls, Son will be among plenty of fantasy squads, as will teammate James Maddison (£8.1m), one of the signings of the summer so far.
