FPL 2023-24 – Gameweek 11 Rotation Risks

-

Coming off the back of a round of Carabao Cup games, rotation is a factor that FPL bosses need to take into account. With that in mind, we mark out a few key assets that could potentially find themselves left out from the start in Gameweek 11.

Rotation is likely to be few and far between across Gameweek 11, but Chelsea are a side that warrants focus and caution. Mauricio Pochettino fielded a strong team in their midweek Carabao Cup win against Blackburn with the likes of Raheem Sterling (£6.9m), Cole Palmer (£5.0m) and Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m). Whether the same trio start against Chelsea in Gameweek 11 remains to be seen. Also given a first start post hamstring injury was Reece James (£5.3m), who is likely to replace Axel Disasi (£5.1m) in the Chelsea starting XI against Spurs.

Many were surprised (and perhaps unnerved) to see Mohamed Salah (£12.9m) starting for Liverpool against Bournemouth this past Wednesday in the Carabao Cup. While this may understandably fuel worries that he is set to be afforded a rest in Gameweek 11, a player of Salah’s importance is very unlikely to start on the bench. Especially when considering that Liverpool don’t have to think about Champions League football this season.

Man Utd do have to worry about the Champions League, but at the same time face a must-win clash with Fulham in Gameweek 11. After all being on the bench in midweek, Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m), Marcus Rashford (£8.7m) and Rasmus Hojlund (£7.1m) should all start at Craven Cottage, which means the likes of Anthony Martial (£6.4m) and Alejandro Garnarcho (£4.7m) are likely to be rotated out of the team after failing to impress in the Carabao Cup. Despite a crucial Champions League return match vs Borussia Dortmund on the horizon, Newcastle can’t afford to rotate for their Gameweek 11 fixture against Arsenal as injuries continue to put an extra strain on their squad.
