We shine a spotlight on FPL assets who are being bought and sold in high numbers this week.
TRANSFERS IN
Jeremy Doku (£6.6m) – Man City
No prizes if you guessed who has the most ‘transfers in’ this week, with Doku of course attracting plenty of attention off the back of his magnificent performance against Bournemouth. The Man City winger’s goal and four assists yielded 22 FPL points, and over 300k managers have purchased the Belgian ahead of the clash with Chelsea in Gameweek 12. Given the fact he was benched in Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Young Boys, another start does seem on the cards.
Eddie Nketiah (£5.7m) – Arsenal
Although Nketiah was unable to follow up his Gamweek 11 hat-trick last time out, he remains a popular purchase this week as Arsenal prepare to welcome Burnley to the Emirates Stadium. However, there is some concern over his physical condition as he was absent from the Gunners’ Champions League tie with Sevilla on Wednesday, and faces a race against time to be fit for the weekend. Could those that have brough him in live to regret their decision?
TRANSFERS OUT
Dan Burn (£4.7m) – Newcastle
The Newcastle defender was starting to become a fairly popular budget option in defence, particularly since teammate Sven Botman got injured, but Burn has now suffered an injury of his own and is set for a fairly lengthy spell in the treatment room. The early signs are that the 31-year-old will not feature again in 2023, and that has prompted over 250k FPL managers to part ways with him ahead of the Magpies’ Gameweek 12 trip to the south coast to take on Bournemouth.
Cristian Romero (£5.0m) – Tottenham
Spare a thought for those fantasy bosses who owned Romero in Gameweek 11, as the outcome could scarcely have been any worse. A first-half red card for the Argentinian centre-back was made worse by the fact that Tottenham ultimately conceded four goals in a dramatic London Derby with Chelsea. That resulted in a score of -4 for Romero, who will now miss the next three Premier League games through suspension.
