FPL 2023-24 – Gameweek 14 Forwards

-

It’s time to take a look at which strikers have been performing in FPL of late, and who should be on managers’ radar as we approach Gameweek 14

It’s tough to get through an article without mentioning Erling Haaland (£14.0m), but he remains the best FPL asset up front after scoring his 13th Premier League goal of the campaign in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool last Saturday. Up next for the Norwegian? Spurs, who have lost three on the bounce and play with a high line that is sure to go in the Man City striker’s favour.

It didn’t take long for Alexander Isak (£7.4m) to find his mark after returning from injury, with the Swede scoring in Newcastle’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea in what was his first Premier League appearance since Gameweek 9. The Magpies striker now has seven Premier League goals to his name this season, and next faces a Man Utd outfit who just conceded three goals to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Although Ollie Watkins (£8.5m) has scored in his last two Premier League games, he isn’t producing the big hauls that he was not so long back. However, the trip to Bournemouth in Gameweek 14 could offer more opportunities for the Englishman, who remains incredibly popular in FPL circles.

There is no doubt that Darwin Nunez (£7.6m) has proven frustrating for FPL managers this season, with the Uruguayan frequently seen missing glaring opportunities. However, the Liverpool frontman has still recorded ten attacking returns in the Premier League campaign, and has one less competitor for a starting spot now that injured Diogo Jota is set for a spell on the sidelines. Liverpool entertain Fulham in Gameweek 14, and if Nunez can tidy up his finishing, he could well be among the points.

We’ve already touched upon Haaland, but his Man City teammate Julian Alvarez (£7.1m) is still an asset to be considered. The Argentinian may have only recorded one attacking return in the last four gameweeks, but he scored off the bench in the Champions League on Tuesday and a start seems likely against Spurs this weekend.
