FPL 2023-24 – Three Things We Learned In Gameweek 10

-

The tenth gameweek of the 2023-24 season came to an end on Sunday and we’ve a lot to take in following an exciting round of Premier League games. Following this, we’ve singled out three crucial fantasy related highlights as we start to look towards Gameweek 11.

NETO SET FOR LENGTHY LAY-OFF

The popularity of Pedro Neto (£5.8m) as an FPL asset has been growing throughout the season due to his consistency of attacking returns. He had accrued at least one attacking return in every league fixture for Wolves since Gameweek 2 and recorded his eighth assist of the campaign against Newcastle in Gameweek 10. However, disaster struck later in the match as Neto suffered a hamstring injury when running through on goal. He is expected to be missing for the next few weeks, with Wolves hopeful that he’ll return before the new year.

HAALAND BACK TO HIS DESTRUCTIVE BEST

Write Erling Haaland (£14.0m) off at your peril! Many of the FPL community may have been questioning his place in their respective teams when considering his consecutive blanks across gameweeks seven and eight. Haaland has since come back with a bang, backing up his goal and 8 fantasy points in Gameweek 9 with a 16-point-haul in Gameweek 10. Haaland scored twice and set up a third goal in the Manchester Derby as Man City took apart Man Utd at Old Trafford. With Bournemouth at home next up for Haaland in Gameweek 11, his ownership will be licking their lips with anticipation.

SALAH NOT THE ONLY VIABLE LIVERPOOL ATTACKING ASSET

Although lots of FPL managers rightly focus on Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), who continued his run of scoring in every Liverpool home league fixture this season in Gameweek 10, another player from the Reds is fast establishing himself as someone well worth owning in his own right. Forward Darwin Nunez (£7.5m) picked up 10 FPL points in Liverpool 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, after scoring and assisting. Nunez has quietly racked up four attacking returns over the past three gameweeks despite starting just two of those games. Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Luton in Gameweek 11, so expect Nunez’s ownership to rise further.
